Launch of Local Tots.com

A fledgling business started by local Mum, Melissa Spencer, has been awarded a Business and Community Award at the BACA Award Ceremony organised by Didcot First and Didcot Chamber of Commerce.

Didcot Tots.com was created only three months ago when Mrs Spencer was trying to find fun things to do with her young son. Mrs Spencer spent her evenings and toddler nap times, researching and bringing together information about all the activities for children in the Didcot area, along with the local support available for parents, and created the Didcot Tots website.

Didcot Tots.com was the overall winner in the business category for positively promoting Didcot. ‘I didn’t think such a new venture would stand a chance of winning an award’ said Mrs Spencer, ‘it was such an honour to be nominated in the first place and attend an awards ceremony at Cornerstone. So I am a very proud and extremely surprised winner, and thrilled at having an award-winning website’.

Funded by local businesses advertising their goods and services aimed at children, the website has been well received by other parents and supported by local children’s centres, children’s groups and health visitors.

As Didcot Tots.com has gone from strength to strength since July, Mrs Spencer is now pleased to launch www.localtots.com which not only details activities in Didcot, but also has up-to-date information about children’s activities in nearby towns – Abingdon, Henley, Thame, Wallingford, Wantage and Witney.
